When dating, it’s essential to assess how you feel when you’re with someone. Maybe after an hour, you go to the bathroom and think, “I really liked this person. They’re fun, I can have a great conversation, it’s flowing, I didn’t even see how long it’s been, my cheeks hurt, I’ve been laughing so much.”
That’s when you can be like, “Hey, I just want to share. I’m really intentional with the way that I date. Like, are you looking for a relationship or casual? What are you actually seeking right now?”
We want to have a baseline of understanding that you would actually say, “I’d like to see this person again.” Once you address that, which might take you an hour, that’s when I think it’s crucial to understand, do you want the same things?
There are ways that you could do it while also not overperforming, because that’s where the line between being forward and then over functioning starts to get blurry.
